360 panoramic photography was the original term used for capturing images with wide fields of view and is also known as wide format photography. Usually an image with a field of view the same as the human eye may denoted as being panoramic and generally means the image is at least twice as wide as it is high with the resulting images taking the form of a wide strip. Depending on how the image has been captured some panoramic images have aspect ratios between 4 to 1 and 10 to 1 over a field of view of up to 360°

360 Panoramic photography became popular in the late 19th century when lots of different kinds of cameras were invented. In modern times though the term panoramic photography also refers to the Advanced Photo System cameras which use the word "panoramic" to denote any format with a wide aspect ratio and not just wide format photos. A typical APS camera in its panoramic mode, where its zoom lens is at its shortest focal length of around 24 mm, has a field of view of only 65° which would generally be considered to be just wide angle, not panoramic.

VIRTUTOUR has developed a system that uses the above methods and highly trained panoramic photographers and the latest digital processing techniques to create fullscreen high definition panoramic photos for a variety of industry sectors. Hide...
